Fitness vision board ideas
The most common fitness vision board is a set of bodies cut out of adverts. It is also the least useful: you cannot do anything with a picture of someone else’s abs on a Tuesday evening.
A fitness board that keeps you training shows the habit, the event and the feeling. Here is what to put on one.
The habit
Picture the training you will do this week, so the board points at something you can start today.
- Your trainers by the door, or your bag packed for the morning
- The route, pool, gym or class you go to
- A weekly plan with the sessions written in
- A training partner you want to keep showing up with
The event
A date makes a goal real. Put one on the board.
- A race, a match, a climb or a swim with a date on it
- A lift, a time or a distance you want to reach
- A trip that needs you fitter: a trek, a ski week, a long bike ride
The feeling
Use pictures of how training makes you feel, from your own life if you have them.
- You after a good session, tired and pleased
- Being outside early when the streets are empty
- Sleeping well, and the energy the next day
- Playing with your kids without getting out of breath
Recovery counts
Add one picture of rest: a stretch, a bath, an early night. A board that only shows effort makes it easier to skip the rest days, and harder to keep going in March.
See it before the session
The moment that decides whether you train is usually the hour before, and you are probably holding your phone. Mira can put your fitness pictures and a line on your Lock Screen, so the board is there when you are deciding.
Habit first, body second
Put the training on the board and let the results take care of themselves. When the event is done, swap in the next one.
