Vision board ideas for small business owners

When you run a small business, every day is full of urgent things, and the plan for the year gets lost under them. A vision board is a cheap way to keep the plan in front of you.

A business board is less dreamy than a personal one. Each picture should help you decide what to say yes or no to this week.

Customers

  • A photo of your best customer, or a message from one that made your day
  • The kind of client you want more of
  • A review or a number of orders you want to reach

Revenue and money

  • One revenue number for the year, and the monthly figure it breaks down to
  • The salary you want to pay yourself
  • A cash buffer you would like in the bank

The product or service

  • The next thing you want to launch, sketched or mocked up
  • The thing you want to stop selling
  • A workspace, shop or stall the way you want it

Team and help

  • The first hire, or the job you most want to hand over
  • A mentor or business you would like to learn from
  • A community of other owners you want to be part of

Your own time

Owners leave themselves off their own board. Add one picture of the life the business is supposed to pay for: a day off, a holiday you do not take your laptop on, dinner at home on time.

Keep it next to the work

Your phone is where the business already lives. Mira can show one picture and one line from your board on the Home Screen, between the emails and the orders.

Review it with the numbers

Look at the board when you do your monthly figures. It is the quickest way to notice when the urgent work has pulled you away from the plan.
